The schooling landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is at the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product isn't the only effective means of studying. Their NCV programmes are developed for college students who want to commence their journey towards a fulfilling vocation early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Division for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, with regards to their range of courses.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are available at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a 3-year period.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These courses start out at NCV level two plus the minimum necessity would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

The moment the student finishes NCVLevel two, they would then have attained a grade 10 certificate. NCV Level 3 would be grade 11 and study engineering NCV Level 4 is grade 12.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, remaining equivalent to a National Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level 1. Our NCV programmes start NCV level 2 that is equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which type of students are suited for these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that standard schooling is just not automatically the one means of getting an artisan or getting capable therefore if a student knows from an early age what their website passions are, the NCV programme is in fact perfectly suited for that student.

False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
